Sterling, Illinois is home to four large Sawatzky murals. This one, shown in progress, is one of Dan's favorites. Hidden in the shadows are the names of 150 friendly folks who were kind enough to drop by and cheer Dan on while he was painting.
The familiar dog running through the bottom border of the mural is a nod to Dan's favorite artist, Norman Rockwell. Some of the mural's hidden names can be seen painted in the purple area above the dog.
